I've just started collecting these - thankies Shane for Everybody! Has anyone else got any? Any reason why they're so damn expensive on eBay?! And why were they all reissued in 1995?

Here are the ones I have:

Everybody
Everybody (Instrumental) 5:56
Everybody (Dub Version) 9:23

Lucky Star
Lucky Star (U.S. Remix) 5:34
I Know It 3:44

Material Girl
Material Girl (Jellybean Dance Remix) 6:06
Pretender 4:28

Angel
Angel (Extended Dance Mix) 6:15
Into The Groove 4:40

The reissue ones I have are:
Look of Love, Live to tell, Burning up, Express Yourself, Like a prayer (Mustard colour sleeve) Like a Prayer (White sleeve) Dress you up, Into the groove, Lucky Star, Angel, Who's That Girl, Cherish, Borderline, Material Girl, Everybody, Papa don't preach, Causing a commotion, Holiday, Like a Virgin.

These all come with a yellow disc and the sire label.

The ones I'm missing are "Open your heart and True Blue.

They were released in Germany as far as I know by the Sire label around when Madonna was on her Maverick label and Sire reissued all her previous 12" up to vogue which is why you don't see Gambler or Crazy for you as they were on another label. 12" vinyls had pretty much vanished off the shelves around then and CD singles were replacing them. Of-course that's all changing again with vinyl but that was what I had read somewhere.

And as for the cost, I guess it is because they are out of print.

I had a few of them, but they got damaged in my infamous garage flooding Sad

The ones I salvaged are:

Dress You Up
Material Girl
Holiday
Live to Tell
Like a Prayer (both White and Yellow)
Lucky Star
Who's That Girl

BUT, I have the whole lot as a bootleg collection hehe
Will take photos later and post it up when I have completed all the covers.

P.S. Real Groovy has them often, last month they had Burning Up, Everybody, Like a Virgin, Live to Tell, Papa Don't Preach, and Into the Groove. They go pretty quick though. Usually $19.95 each secondhand.

Yep, online. Like a Virgin was on there for a couple of weeks, might still be there?

I remember seeing them and wondering if I should buy them, but decided will go with my bootlegs instead. Everybody and Burning up was gone within 2 days. Papa Dont Preach was there for a week or more.

Hmm. How do you tell though - are they the ones that say "CD5"? Instead of something useful such as, say, "2 track single"?

Yep, CD5, you can tell which ones they are because they cost more too.

Otherwise call up the Auckland store and ask them, all online secondhand items are Auckland City shop items.

well, embarrassingly enuf....... not gonna happen. it turns out the universe does not want me to go. it was all too hard, couldnt get flights back, couldnt get enuf time off wk, things came up there. i couldnt get the accomodation we wanted and thats the beginning. it turned out to be toooo hard. so i think it just wasnt meant to be. im absaloutely guttered, but trying to be positive about it. so sadly, no sticky sweeties for me. Sad

Awww hun *hugs* I know how much you were looking forward to it too Sad
Its a pain how little things that don't fit in can end up creating a big shitty impact.

But yes, must think positive, there's gotta be something more spectacular in store for you later Smile Still a kick in the guts though, when you look forward to it so much.

We should all resolve to get to see her on the next tour together!
