Me, a new 12" of Drowned World/Substitute for Love for $20USD and a 2nd hand Ray of light Lenticular for $30NZD. On Friday I'm picking up my 12" of Burning up-yay! I need a new record player too, mines speed thingymajig is slowing down Deciding whether to get a 2nd hand one (last one lasted me 8 years!) or buy a new system with an add-on turntable. Hmmm...... Have promised hubby and Miss 12 they can scratch the shit out of an old Milli Vanilli record with the old player before I turf it lol They've been dying to mess around with it for years but I told them I'd skin them if they ruined my needle!

Actually I found a copy of Like A Virgin promo 12", the one where she's not on the cover, just some bluish designs and with crosses and things. I thought it was kinda cool finding that as I think I saw a picture of it on here somewhere and thought to myself, why haven't I ever found that? And I did, in town last night. I have both the promos for that now. Only $9.95 too, I felt very lucky, I haven't bought a record in ages.

And it actually says "Promo Only Not For Sale"? Nice find! Last thing I bought ... CD singles of "Angel" and "Material Girl" in the states. Due to unforseen circumstances (i.e. shipping and exchange rates), they cost me nearly $90. I'm just gonna sit tight and not move lest I spend any more money. And Genie, two Christmas' ago my parents bought me a record player they found at Woolworths. The built in speakers are kind of lame, but apart from that, it's pretty good. Very durable. Comes with an attachment that lets you play jukebox 7" singles (the ones with the huge gaping donut holes) and plugs so you can plug in your own speakers. _________________

Nice find Corey! Hey Brad, I think I remember those players. I saw some cute Crosby ones on TM but am gonna pass on anything with inbuilt speakers and go for a Hi-Fi setup of some sort. Want an all in one system where I can hook up my DVD player (poor mans surround sound system LOL) Hey Shane, yeah I've seen those around- but just as easy and cheaper to hook up using a $16 cable from Dick Smith for a cheapskate like me

Yeah, but would the transfer be as good? - I like the sound of it because it's so easy!

Dunno if the sound transfer would be any different, it depends on the quality of the Vinyl really. I've made some good cassette transfers though, and with a good editing proggy you can amp it up and make it a pretty good quality MP3. Ooh, I picked up my 12" Burning Up tonight, its still in the original shrinkwrap- good score for $15NZD. Now I just need Everybody, Lucky Star and Holiday to complete the first album singles.

Interested in Everybody on cd single (with the dub version as well)? Are you just collecting 12" singles? I have a spare 7" Holiday train sleeve. Have just finished collating my collection, check this out...over 300 items! (I'm sure I've missed something): http://www.madonnarecords.com/user/my_collection.asp?What=&Records=All

Thanks for the offer but I'm sticking to 12" Vinyl for now. I got all the CD singles on hard disk with covers and all, am going to be naughty and make myself a bootleg collection of all her US singles ever released on CD. Will get myself a lightscribe DVD writer and burn images and text directly onto the disc surface. Will make covers and all, and it will be mega rare and no one else will have it! mwahahaha!
