| http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=184158969Shes got a nice collection there, didn't want to ask why she was selling it, but wowza! Some nice items in there. I've given her the link to the forum, maybe she might get some offers here? I was only interested in the Vinyl but understandably, shes only wanting to sell in a bulk lot. Anyone wanna go halves and offer $1000 and let me pick over the Vinyl? lol | |

| omg no way! $2300??? Well that's me out of the running She would probably get closer to that amount selling them separately though. Its a method that's time consuming, but guaranteed to get full price worth for each item, and maybe more depending on the bidding wars. Ebay might get a better return, but the postage will be an absolute killer. Lucky lady to have some really nice items. I hope she isn't too sad parting with them, if its a sale out of necessity | |

| Should we email her? Offer her a safe cozy haven in the Madonna Fans forum?
Or maybe she looked at Hard Candy and the Sticky and Sweet Tour and went "Oh, bugger her." Cos I know a handful of American fans did. Hmm. Only time can heal that wound.

| The crazy thing is that we cannot compare what collections are worth overseas to what NZ people can pay. It's all very well knowing what something may go for overseas but you just cannot expect to get the same if selling in this country. It kinda riles me that someone will say such and such is worth thousands on eil.com. everyone knows that is the most expensive online shop in the world! and then they put a reserve to the amount of NZ dollars, absolutely crazy. We just don't get the same wages as people do elsewhere.
I think things are worth what people are paying for at the time. For example, I bought on ebay a couple of years ago the cassette of It's that girl for around 10 bucks, if I compared the price to eil.com I should have paid about 50 pounds!
Am I making sense? er maybe not. I'm sick of reading auctions where the person/persons are comparing what it's worth to a country where it's far better off money wise than us.
Auctions were always meant to be a place to pick up bargains really, sadly this is not the case anymore.

| I agree totally with you Corey, and I get what you're saying.
The flag auctions for instance, realistically, they wont fetch that price, especially on Trademe. There just isn't a competitive enough market on there for those kinds of sales for a start. Ebay has the competitive market, millions more buyers which means millions more demand, and we are talking a demographic that includes people with serious money to burn.
Another thing that bugs me in auctions- claiming things are "RARE!" or " "Must Have for Collectors!". Rareness does not necessarily mean its worth a lot, and just because its got Madonna on it, doesn't mean collectors are going to want it.

| unfortunately shes absoloutely dreaming to be able to get that kind of money here in nz. the hardcore collectors like myself and you guys are bound to have most of it anyway. just to be stubborn and not split things up from her point of view is a little silly, as to sell it as a whole is just not gonna happen. anywho, shed be better to flog it off on ebay me thinks | |

| Yeah, I guess she wants to not have the hassle of listing it individually, which is fair enough, but realistically, full price for each individual item will have a better chance at bringing a good profit.
I would LOVE a few of her vinyls though, the pink Bedtime Stories, Blond Ambition, the red Fever 12"s and a few others.

| haha hey Fleur, just saw your question on the x 3 12" singles auction- I watch that auction week after week waiting for her to bring her price down. Her first auction was for $19 for about x 15, 12" singles. When I showed interest in the Madonna singles only if the bulk lot didn't sell, she suddenly threw up an auction for the three of them for $25. She even had the cheek to send me offers for $35.
I only really wanted the American Pie one but not at $25 plus postage of $12.50.

| Sounds cool, I had resigned myself to buying it off Ebay so no worries if you need to keep it. I've got some great bargains off there lately.
I bid up to $150NZD for a Something to Remember LP, stayed up til 3am but it went for way more- bah!

| Ohh there's another Vinyl auction for 3 singles, Keep it Together, Cherish and Fever. I desperately want the Fever one! If anyone wants to go splits, lemme know so we all don't bid and drive up the price LOL | |

| Wow is that album worth that much now? I have a copy which I found at real groovy a couple of years ago for about 15 bucks. We are quite lucky being in NZ sometimes. - CandyPerfumeGirl wrote:
