25 years ago today on July 27th 1983, Madonna's debut record was released on Sire Records and history was made! The album Madonna, or the First Album as it is sometimes referred to, remains one of our favorite Madonna records to this day.

I wasn't even alive. I was born the week "Like a Prayer" was sitting at Number 1 on the NZ charts. How old do y'all feel now?

Urghhh, you missed out on SO much!!! I would have been about 13 or 14 when Holiday was released, and I remember going into town (in Canberra then) to buy the 7" single (which I still have). I'd never felt this before, but I knew as soon as I'd heard that song that she'd be a huge star...I know it's easy to say that now, but it's true, and back then, not many would have backed me up on that opinion!

if theres anybody who has anything wanting to trade, would you be able to pm me?????????? my collection has been progress over the last 20 years. its now a bedrooms worth in size, and its really something i now need to be valued. any ideas whos able to do this in auckland???? help, as now its growing day by day and the hubby reckons ill have to be buried 30 feet under to take it all with me!!!

Fleur, I'd first check sites like eil.com and 991.com to see what they are selling items for (991.com can convert to NZ$). All these sites BUY for a fraction of the selling cost, so avoid any "dealers" valuing your stuff, is my advice, especially in New Zealand where there isn't a big enough market for this sort of stuff. I think your items would sell too cheaply here, whereas overseas, if you have what they want, they will pay for it. Consider eBay - you can set your own reserve, you don't have to take high risks on say 99c reserves. Sell on this site as it grows, especially if we get people from everywhere...(no eBay fees, but then you take the risk without their protection).....

need a vale for insurance as its soooooo big and i know how much ive paid so think of a number and add a zero, and i think youd be close. so i know what ive paid i need to know what to individually insure it for.
