The date confirms information reported this week by the Free Press and hinted at by Madonna during a weekend film screening in Traverse City. It will be her first Michigan concert in more than seven years.
Tickets will go on sale later this month, sources have told the Free Press. Details will be announced next week. Seats for other stadium shows on Madonna’s upcoming tour, including Miami and Houston, are priced between $55 and $350, with VIP packages topping out at $575.
The Rochester Hills-raised Madonna had skipped Detroit on two tours following a pair of hometown shows at the Palace of Auburn Hills in 2001. Her latest international run kicks off its North American leg Oct. 4 in New Jersey.
The 49-year-old star appeared Saturday at the Traverse City Film Festival to screen her new documentary, “I Am Because We Are.”
