| No, Im not talking about the La Isla Bonita guys' hair lol
Lets talk "Fracas" by Robert Piguet. I've heard exuberant praises and warnings about this fragrance, and being one of Madonna's signature scents, I finally got to try it today. The verdict...
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
Fracas is french for Chaos. And that's exactly what this fragrance is, a chaotic, bizarre, poisonous amalgam of heavy duty florals and human pheromones. (Rumour is, the scent was banned for being too sexy back in the 20's or 40's, and had to be reworked because of the ban on certain ingredients.)
I cant help but think of Madonna whenever I sniff this precious tissue I sprayed it on, to take home. I also cant imagine her wearing anything less than this. Its so HER.
Good news, I'm saving madly for a bottle of this forbidden juice, $190 for 50ml *gahhh!* and will offer affordable samples for anyone interested in smelling our queens signature scent.
Although she was dousing herself in Gardenia Passion on the Reinvention Tour, I cant see her parting with Fracas. Its disturbingly exciting to be able to smell a fragrance she loves and wears, I feel a little psychotic, but god, she has good taste.

| hehe I knew you would love this! I'll let ya know as soon as I get it.
I'm aiming to get it this week or next week, saving the pennies up...car rego or perfume....hmmm I dont mind walking for the next two weeks, at least I'll smell like Madonna mwhahaha!
Ive been reading up more about it and it has synthetic human pheromone notes, someone described it as the smell of ones skin, right after sex.
Thats the beauty of perfumery, its so interpretive, like a painting, or music.
lol@ verdict, Have to wait until May next year when the Mr goes back to get a photo with this guy and I get to talk to him on the phone myself. I have a list of grilling questions he will be required to answer, so I can determine his authenticity.

| "Fracas is french for Chaos. And that's exactly what this fragrance is, a chaotic, bizarre, poisonous amalgam of heavy duty florals and human pheromones. " Mmmm. Poisonous. Spray liberally onto your skin for an exotic, sexy rash. I'm sure it smells great and its Madonna's favey product, hehe, but I just love press releases and stuff for beauty products, they're so pretentious and stupid. Not to mention models for the adverts: photshopped so their legs are seven metres long with really red hair lit up by fifty 10,000 watt lamps. Stupid system, really. Bring back those curvy Dove girls, I say. | |

| lol that was my review, not the press release Its actually one that isn't really advertised, its like an underground cult perfume that got around by word of mouth. The best fragrances aren't widely known and the makers don't have to advertise. In fact the bottles are pretty ugly and plain. But yeah, a lot of the commercial fragrances are pretentious, especially considering the fragrance is just duplicated commercial crap. I would be so disappointed if Madonna brought out a fragrance, that would be the ultimate sellout. | |

You have a bright future in cosmetic sales then, sunshine. Someone's bound to Google it and steal it, lol! And you're absolutely right about sellout fragrance. Although ... Gwen Stefani, Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue and err there must be more ... they've all done it. Hmmm. I'm sure the process for the face-of-perfume goes something like: "*sniff sniff* Smells like a toilet, put my name on it and photograph me." Or is it more intense and 'researched' and stuff? Maybe their managers just get a phonecall from fans at the Smell Factory who made a scent "that reminds them of our heroine, Mariah Carey" (the scent in question is made of goat breath, flower wee and "rainbows of joy") and then the manager calls the singer, quotes a few figures and then the deal is done and dusted and everyone leaves happy, especially the manufacturers, cos they just shipped off a bottle of water, nitrus oxide and raccoon bits that cost them 50 cents to produce and is now being resold to the singer's idiot fans for $59.99 per 100ml. I think I'm quite tired.

| when you get it hun and you open ya bottle spray the hell outta it on a tissue and i will just pay ya for per spray basis LOL. cult fragrances that go underground is so much more sexier than kylie or maria trying to shuffle for popularity. it should be on merit. as im in this industry, trust me.... it can be pretentious and over the top but this seems the exception LOL | |

| Sounds scary. Its good to be a guy. A can of Lynx is easy enough to pick out and we have no emotional struggles along the way. ^^ | |

| Okay, I didn't really want to say anything when I read this post but don't you think it's kinda strange that you want to smell Madonna? Or even smell like Madonna? I honestly don't wish to offend at all but it is kind of freaky. I guess each to their own and many people like sniffing weird things but er . . . I should just shut up! On the other hand when I was 15, I absolutely adored patchouli oil and everytime I smell it now, it reminds me of Like A Prayer (the oil wasn't really around in 1989 like it is now) Also have you guys ever thought that Madonna could actually read some of these post? You never know. . .she does go on the net a bit apparently. . . I wonder what she would think that people want to smell her? Don't ban me | |

I wonder what she would think that people want to smell her? Don't ban me Errr...Who's wanting to smell 'Madonna' herself? We are talking about a perfume that she is known to wear, along with countless other women who have been wearing this fragrance since the 1940's. If people are curious and want to sample the perfume to see whats so special about it and why she chooses to wear it, is that really so freaky or strange? Its like hearing that Marilyn Monroe loved Chanel #5 and out of curiosity, having a sniff of a bottle at a department store to see what was so special about it that she would choose that fragrance. (Another groundbreaking timeless fragrance by the way!) Or hearing that your fav celebrity likes to listen to a certain kind of music, and having a listen yourself to see why they like it. Speaking for myself, I cant say Madonna was the motivating factor in me trying and buying the perfume. I have been wanting to try this for years and years, but could never get hold of it. It has quite a reputation. I finally did get to try it, and instantly fell in love with it. It being a known signature scent of Madonna's is somewhat a cherry on the top. Its kinda cool to know she wears it and that we share the same good taste in fragrance. You would be a moron to spend $200 on a perfume you didn't like but wore it simply because someone you liked did and you wanted to be them as much as possible. In fact that would be kinda retarded. As for Madonna reading these posts, I don't think there's anything here for her or anyone else to be concerned about. And besides, I don't think about what she would think whenever I post something about her. If I have something to say, I say it, whether she would like it or not. (P.S. Patchouli was very common all throughout the 80's, a fragrance called 'Kama' was huge back then, which contained heavy Patchouli notes. After LAP was released, Patchouli was the craze and Kama sales went thru the roof.)

| Also thought I would add, there's a saying that goes: " Personality is to a man what perfume is to a flower."
Perfume can reveal a lot about an individuals personality, and knowing one of Madonna's favourite fragrances is no different to reading a book about her. Its simply a revelation of a different facet of her. I think that's where Fleur is coming from, when shes says we are one step closer to her.
One step closer to revealing a personal side of her previously unveiled. Its not her personal body odour anyone is wanting to covet lol

| I feel so boring ... wearing Lynx like a Commoner.
It's that chocolate scented one, which smells nice, but the can is ruined by the fine print:
"This is a chocolate-scented fragrance. Do not eat."

| Off with your head you sacrilegious perfume brute! lol Actually, I had a sniff of that Lynx and its actually the better one of them all Hubby only wears one fragrance, Swiss Army. Its so delicious, and its the only one that makes me go weak in the knees. I love going into the bathroom in the mornings because I can smell he's been in there (no, not the shit smell LOL) and gives me a little electric jolt knowing how good he must smell at work and what I would do to him if....ooops getting carried away lol | |

| I am still amazed my CD & LP still reeks of the scent, I love it!
Whenever Im in my LAP mood I spritz on Givenchy's Ange ou Demon, its the closest thing to the LAP scent I have found in a perfume. Very dark and incense-like.
How can you tell if you have the special CD case infused one, because I am almost positive the one I have is infused because its so damn strong. The CD tray is a shiny black one, not the matte one. I have another regular matte black one which still has the scent but not as strong as this one.
